pregnant woman murderWhy is it double murder when the woman is pregnant and killed but not murder when it is abortion?

I have noticed that when a pregnant woman is murdered the murderer can be tried for double murder meaning that the baby is considered human life but for some reason when it comes to abortion the baby is not considered human life? If abortion is legal than why isn't euthanasia? If it is a woman's choice to have an abortion than why isn't it a persons choice to die? I don't understand. Can anyone clear this up for me because all the pro abortion/pro life people I know do not have an answer for me. Thank you for your input.
Murder is when someone takes someone else's life.
Abortion is when a woman knowingly chooses to terminate a fetus. (I'm not talking late term here which can be for med reasons)

And your question about a person's choice to die is called suicide not murder. I think it's simple enough that really you can clarify yourself.

AND PLEASE don't assume the opposing side of prolife is proabortion. It's NOT. Pro-life simply means having the baby no matter what. Proabortion would be everytime a woman gets pregnant she kills a baby because she's sooooo for abortion (yes that is sarcasm). So it's actually prochoice meaning the woman has a choice regarding her pregnancy. If you figure this out then you can figure out that murder and suicide are two different things regarding a woman's life and an unborn baby's life.
But when a woman knowingly chooses to terminate a fetus, she is taking someone else's life. So according to your definition of murder and abortion, Abortion=Murder.

The fetus is only considered life past the point of viability (aka when it would have at least had a chance of not dying outside the women). If the baby isn't at least at the point then it isn't considered double homicide--if it was past that point then it does count as double homicide. The point of viability is also when abortion becomes illegal (unless for medical reasons). I don't remember how many weeks it is but I think its about 20. Don't quote me on that though.
I dont think it was her choice to die..I think she would want to have lived and with her baby.

If a woman decides to kill her child its her choice but not a very good one. No one else has the say or right to stop her. If i could I would.

I think its the size/how far along she is in her pregnancy.
I dont underpregnant woman murderstand either sweetie. I'm pro choice, but I would never have an abortion or persuade another to get one, but sometimes they are called for. Only if it in danger or you are in danger. I think it is only double murder though when they are far along I think....I could be wrong though. Good question.
I'm not sure. There are abortion clinics that will take a baby event though the mother is already 6 months. As far as I know thats as high as they will go.Murder is by taking someone's life without asking pretty much and well your taking someones life without asking if your killing a fetus no matter how far along.
because there is a small window at the beginning of pregnancy for abortion, before the baby is too developed. when the baby is more developed and killed it is considered murder whether by someone else or the mother.
Concisely, if the woman is killed while pregnant, the foetus was killed not by the choice of the mother, thus is classified as murder.
that is a fantastic question. unfortunately i don't have the answer for you. but its not right. murder is murder if you ask me. no two ways about it.
here we go again! i think there needs to be an abortion site on here
I'm pretty sure its only double murder if the girl is obviously pregnant which is around 6 months! and you cannot get an abortion that late either!
well because an abortion is that persons choice... which im totally against and when someone kills a pregnant woman its not her choice so there are two lives taken
Agreed. Abortion should be illegal and charged as murder just like the double murder.
Blame the U.S Supreme Court for this. The 1970's case of Roe vs. Wade made abortion legal in this country, and made the law unclear in these types of cases.
I don′t believe it′s double homocide when a woman is 5 weeks pregnant.
Not sure though
because most of our laws are hypocritical.
Amen! It makes no sense...
Wow. You asked a loaded question with this one. I don't understand that too much myself either. I'm pro life all the way so to me abortion is murder.
I think the law would see it as how the mother feels about the pregnancy. Obviously, a woman who is about to have an abortion does not want the baby or even care about the baby. In this situation, the baby is not seen as a life and therefore the mother can do whatever she wants.
A woman who is killed during her prepregnant woman murdergnancy obviously wanted the baby so she continued to carry it. She chose to carry that life inside of her for whatever reason.
Euthanasia isn't legal for the simple reason that, in the eyes of the law, it is murder. Even though that person is in extreme pain, should we kill them? Although this is illegal I think it is also a moral issue as well. Even though the person is in terrible pain and suffering, we are morally obligated not to end their life. Honestly, I am at odds with assisted suicide. I watched my grandfather deteriorate from cancer and wished to God someone would end his suffering. Good questions.
You have made some really good points there, ok i can't answer all of them but i will try and answer some, when a woman wants to keep her baby its known as a baby, when she doesn't its just a product of conception!! We live in an extremley messed up world, where we seem to lack morals and sympathy. I wonder, if a woman was on her way to an abortion clinic to abort her baby and she got murdered would the murderer still get tried for a double murder ummm *ponders*. just so people know i am from the uk and abortion IS LEGAL upto 24 weeks...yes thats right 24 weeks for social reasons and longer for medical reasons
I think everyone should have the right to die if they have some terminal diesese....if your pet is sick and you take them to the vet, they will put them down, they would never leave them to suffer
the only time that a person can be charged with murder x2 is when the fetus is of age to live outside the womb (6 months or so) because you have taken the life of a HUMAN that is capiable of living on it own without its mother. Before a "unborn child" is considered a living being, they have to reach this stage. So any abortion performed before 23 weeks is not considered killing a live being (because if born they would not survive anyway)

You can not kill someone who is living and breathing this is illegal. (whether it is agreed with or not) Once a person takes their first breath they are living, and their lives are valued.

It is a confusing subject don't get me wrong but hopefully this cleared it up a little bit
